At Hamilton Metal Forming, we manufacture high-strength steel purlins—available in both Zed (Z) and C-section profiles—to suit a wide range of industrial and agricultural projects.

Cold-formed galvanised steel with minimum yield strength of 450 N/mm², finished with a durable Z275 galvanised coating for long-term corrosion resistance and weather protection
Profiles available from approximately 125 mm to 350 mm depth, customisable in both Z and C sections to meet span and load requirements .
Pre-punched and cut-to-length service for fast, accurate installation—with holes for M16 bolts as standard—reducing site labour and fitting time
Lightweight yet robust, our sections can span up to 15 m, making them ideal where timber is impractical
Fully CE and UKCA marked, with full traceability via barcoding and compliance with British & European standards
The Perfect Purlin
Hamilton’s unique ‘M’ shape purlin is designed with greater torsional resistance. The versatile design features single bolt connections making it suitable for both horizontal and vertical cladding.
Sections are manufactured from grade Z35 steel giving a guaranteed minimum yield strength of 350N/mm², All in accordance with the requirements of BS EN 10147.
Whilst primarily intended for use with steel framed structures, sections can be attached to masonry, timber and concrete. Spans up to 8.5m can be achieved either in single. double or multiple spans.
